Windows 10 overwriting Intel Graphics driver with older version
Hi all,
Anyone had this issue or similar at all?
Windows 10 keeps automatically installing Intel HD Graphics 4600 drivers, version 20.19.15.4331 (Date 18/11/2015).
This driver seems to cause blurry text on screen. The driver also keeps failing periodically.
Using the Intel Driver Update Utility, it shows there is an update to the latest version, 15.33.38.64.4252, for Windows 10 x64. Which works fine - however because of the version number (I believe this reads as a lower value than the one installed by Windows), Windows Update in it's wisdom keeps overwriting it with the older version again which causes the issue. Opening prayer for sunday service.
I've tried telling Windows to not update hardware drivers but with no luck. I think this is because of the GPO rules at work.. which I set up to force everyone else to actually do updates..
Ideas would be grand. I've also emailed Intel Support in case it is a balls up on their end with the version number..
