Lowe's had packs of 2, and then the key guys made me 2 more copies of those keys. I then went home and keyed all my locks to that key. I got the keys locally because I didn't want to order them online. No good having someone with both my address and possibly copies of my keys.
To answer your question directly: I've never tried taking the numbers in, but that is really a non-starter, since you have to have the keys in hand to do the rekeying. Good luck, I hope it works for you. see less You may want to watch this kwickset instructional video before you rekey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHhwYBGz2kU
